A Sherbrooke Innopole article featured our ambitions to conquer the world thanks to our disinfectant technology. We developed a thymol-based formula, aptly named Thymox, that is currently being distributed across North America and Colombia. Our natural disinfectant cleaner has been approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Health Canada, the United States’ Environmental Protection Agency, also known as the EPA, and the INVIMA (Instituto Nacional de Vigilancia de Medicamentos y Alimentos) in Colombia. As part of the Sustainable Green Chemistry Symposium which was held in Anjou, Quebec on November 16, the CQVB handed the first ever 2011 Green Chemistry Innovation award, to Laboratoire M2 of Sherbrooke.
The innovative technology platform developed by Laboratoire M2 has created a range of natural disinfection products. To date, six products are marketed and 8 are being developed. The continuous R & D efforts enable the firm to form a significant competitive advantage on the “cleaning” market thanks to a variety of green natural products.
“Laboratoire M2 is honored to receive the 2011 Green Chemistry Innovation Award given by the CQVB. This award recognizes the efforts we have made since 2003, to develop disinfectants products that fall within the concept of sustainable development that is globally recognized” says Serge Auray, president of Laboratoire M2.
Seven innovative projects were submitted to the new Green Chemistry Innovation Award, highlighting disinfection products, green solvents, industrial cleaners, grout and mortar systems, industrials films, resins and therapeutic peptides. (more…)

A case of mycoplasmosis, a disease caused by the Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) bacteria, was detected in early June 2011 in St-Hyacinthe. In order to limit the spread of this contagious bacterial disease that mostly affects poultry flocks, some biosecurity measures must be strictly enforced. These measures include, among others, the implementation of a proper cleaning, disinfecting and drying protocol for all vehicles and mobile equipment. The application of these measures will reduce the risk of spreading MG between flocks. (more…)

THYMOX, a farm disinfectant developed by a company in Sherbrooke, Laboratoire M2, has just obtained EcoLogo certification under CCD-166:Disinfectants and Disinfectant-Cleaners, the most important, most respected environmental certification symbol in North America and one that is recognized all over the world. This makes THYMOX the first agricultural disinfectant to obtain such certification in Canada.

Founded in 1988 by the Canadian government, the EcoLogo program provides its customers – public, corporate and consumer – with assurance that the products and services bearing the logo meet the most stringent standards of environmental leadership.
