Ingredient
The active ingredient in Thymox is thymol—a component of thyme oil derived from the thyme plant.
- Thyme oil—listed on the EPA’s 25B minimum risk pesticide products
- Thyme—long history of use in cooking and food preservatives
- Thymol kills pathogens (e.g., bacteria, viruses) by destabilizing the pathogen’s membrane, causing cell content leakage, leading to death.

The active ingredient is mixed with botanical surfactants.
- Derived from vegetable oils
- Stabilizes the solution
